Axios HQ is a software and professional services company that helps organizations improve how they communicate with employees and stakeholders. We grew out of the Axios Media newsroom and founded HQ on the principles of Smart Brevity® — a method that drives clear, concise, and engaging communication.
1 big thing: Were looking for a new business account executive to join our growing commercial team at Axios HQ.
Why it matters: This person will play an integral role in building and growing our client base for our internal communications software platform and our Smart Brevity professional services offerings.
Go deeper: In this role, you will make an impact to Axios HQ through the following responsibilities:
Own the full new business sales cycle, from qualification through close and handoff to customer success
Identify, target, and engage net-new prospects within assigned segments or territories, and help direct BDA outreach strategy and scripting
Conduct discovery calls to understand prospect pain points, business objectives, and technical requirements
Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of ICP prospects to fuel revenue targets, and progress opportunities using a consultative, solution-oriented sales approach
Deliver compelling product demos and value-based presentations tailored to prospect needs
Negotiate pricing, contract terms, and close deals in alignment with company policies
Accurately forecast pipeline and revenue, maintaining up-to-date records in CRM
Meet or exceed quarterly new business revenue targets
Gather and share prospect feedback to inform product, marketing, and go-to-market strategies
Go deeper: Ideal candidates should have an entrepreneurial spirit, and passion for HQ's mission and values – raise the bar, stay curious, be inclusive, always, and champion each other – and have the following experience:
3-5 years of B2B SaaS and/or consulting sales experience closing net new business
Strong fundamental sales skills including pain identification, storytelling, objection handling, and navigating a complex process to close business
Highly skilled at managing a multi-threaded sales process - involving multiple client stakeholders and decision makers using solution-selling principles and concepts
Self-driven and view themselves as the CEO of their own book of business, taking ownership in all facets of their sales process.
Adaptable and able to iterate on their approach to evolve their sales pitch based on the persona or department they are selling to
Experience diving in and becoming a subject matter expert in our product and industry
Superior presentation skills with the ability to create a compelling business case for a prospective client to buy a new product
Wildly collaborative and motivated to work hard toward lofty individual and team goals
Demonstrates strong intrinsic motivation to actively seek feedback and incorporate it into daily sales activities and performance

Base range: $95,000-$115,000 + performance based commission. (Based on skills and experience).
